The October 14, 2011 Release is likely one of the first major updates to KoGaMa after it was opened to the public. The release is one of many that cannot be confirmed by official announcement, but can be inferred from the games published at the time.
Changelog[]
- Modern terrain block implemented: up until this release, terrain was equal in size to the large model block (1/4 the length of the modern terrain block)
Trivia[]
- The release date is based on the release date of Parkour Game by patrick. All 15 games published before Parkour Game feature terrain equal in size to the large model cube.
- The default island template used in the earlier 15 games is constructed of these relatively small terrain blocks. The exact same template is used in Parkour Game and the games that followed, except on a dramatically larger scale because of the terrain resize. The resize impacted empty space as well, creating vast distances between the islands.
- Despite being unnannounced and largely forgotten, this update is likely one of the most critical in KoGaMa's development as the basic terrain block is vital to most games. If terrain had remained as small as it had begun, large-scale building would be rather limited.
- At the time of this release, there's no evidence that pickups, logic, or physics/effect materials existed. KoGaMa was ultimately a building game.
- In this time period, each face of a block could have a different color.[1]
