The AND Cube

It is commonly used to make doors that require multiple buttons to be pressed for them to open.

Usage[]

The AND cube features two orbs: a blue output orb and an orange input orb.

The AND cube operates as an AND gate. It follows the following pattern:

  • If any input is false (no power), the output is false (no power)
  • If all inputs are true, the output is true

That is to say, the AND cube will only emit power if every cube connected to its orange input orb emits power. If a single cube connected to its orange input orb is inactive, the AND cube will emit no power.

AND cubes are usually used for systems that require AND gates. A basic example would be a light box that requires multiple levers to be pulled. This system would involve one AND cube, one light cube, and any number of levers. The AND cube connects to the light cube, and each lever connects to the AND cube. Once every lever is pulled, the light will turn on. Otherwise, the light will remain turned off.

In some cases, the AND cube is used in conjunction with a randomizer in order to create a simple connector. In this system, there is one AND cube and one randomizer. The randomizer's blue input orb is connected to the AND box's orange input orb. No other box connects to the AND box's orange orb. No other box connects to the randomizer's blue orb. In this system, any number of boxes can connect to the randomizer's orange orb and any number of boxes can connect to the AND cube's blue orb. If a single signal is sent to the randomizer, the AND cube will power every cube connected to its blue orb.
