Kill is a physics material which can be used to create games, models and avatars was released in June 25, 2021. It is a damaging material however, as touching it will result in the player character dying in just a second, applying an effect on you that deals very high, continuous damage. It acts like a more lethal and uncurable poison (you cannot cure the effect even with a health pack).
Trivia[]
- The material shares the same texture as the Poison one, except being pink unlike Poison. Another thing that's similar is that after you touch the block, some sort of black smoke will appear on your Avatar. The smoke looks like the Poison block effect, but black.
- The duration of death is only 1 second after the player dies. If you use the HP boost at 50%, it takes a bit longer and if you use the Poison Resist boost, the player does not die when touching it.
- Unlike Poison, the Kill block does not glow, making it harder to be seen on dark enviroments.
- Back in 2012, a similar block by the name of Instakill was added for a limited time, but with a pink lava texture. Unlike the Kill Block, as its name implies, it instantly killed anything that touched it, instead of just causing an uncurable high damage effect.
History[]
- The beta version of Kill, Instant Death was implemented in Build 0.7.4 on March 28, 2012. It had a purple lava texture.
- Instant Death was replaced with Poison in Build 0.7.6 on April 17, 2012. For months after, the Poison material still possessed the name Instant Death in the materials selection menu.
- On June 25, 2021, the Material was released to the Live Server through the Build Version 2.30.11-2021-06-01Maintenance.
- In a update on August 17th 2021, almost 2 months after the block was released, Kill received new animations alongside Super Bouncy, Bouncy. The animations for the Poison and Lava blocks were also added back in the same update.
- In 2024, the textures of many blocks were changed. Until 2024 it looked like this
