Beginning May 20, 2014, the KoGaMa U.S. Server underwent dramatic changes.

The first announcement of KoGaMa Friends was made May 20, 2014.
Changes[]
- Limited Registration:
- A signup quota is imposed, limiting the number of users who could register each week
- The purpose of the restriction is to prevent players from flocking to the Friends server to play with new features prematurely
- Beta testing: The Friends Server was to have early access to new features for testing; as a result, prices would be reduced
- The US/Friends server began receiving early updates a while ago
- The US community was known as the most "hardcore" playerbase, and therefore most likely to discover bugs before a wide release on the BR/WWW servers
- As a thanks, there are price reductions on new items (for instance, the dual revolvers cost 300 gold on the WWW server, whereas they cost 10 on the US) and tester badges
- URL change: The server URL changed from us.kogama.com to friends.kogama.com
- As an attempt to move away from regional names and make KoGaMa more global and united, the EU server was renamed WWW internally, and the US server renamed Friends (the BR server is another matter)[1]
