This logic tutorial demonstrates the construction of an 8-state button. This is a dramatic step-up from a 4-state button.
Required Cubes:
- AND Cube (x8)
- Negate Cube (x3)
- Toggle Cube (x3)
Construction[]
This logic system is large and takes a bit of time to construct. It features many crisscrossing wires, so it's best to trace the wires one cube at a time. The second image of the system features colored wires for easier tracing.
Input: The pressure plate in the image serves as the input for the system. It can be replaced with just about anything.
Outputs: The 8 AND boxes serve as the system's 8 outputs. Each time the system receives an input (the button is pressed), a different AND box is powered. At any given time, one and only one AND box is active. These boxes activate in a predictable way, and have been numbered in the image to show the order in which they activate.
