The Platformer Release was announced February 24, 2015 on the main server. It would be followed by a major overhaul in the 2D Mode Revamp the following November.

  • Platformer Project Type implemented
  • Camera cube implemented
    • A camera distance option available in both platformer and classic project types
    • An additional camera angle option for the platformer project type

Trivia[]

  • The release featured an early version of the platformer game type, which was very different from its later version:
    • Build mode was virtually identical to that of the classic project type
    • In-game physics were the same as in the classic type
    • Players were allowed free movement about the X, Y, and Z axes: the central limitation was camera movement
    • Using ranged weapons was quite difficult due to limitations in aiming
  • The following 2D Mode Revamp largely rendered previous platformer games unplayable simply by restricting players to the X and Y axes
  • The platformer game type would ultimately be removed without any plans for reimplementation
